It goes without saying that the National Portrait Gallery boasts an eye-popping array of treasures — but not all of them hang on its jewel-toned walls. Some can be taken home with you...
The National Portrait Gallery Shop is positively stuffed with art prints, books and exhibition products, alongside exclusive ranges developed in cahoots with artists and independent makers (think bone china by Tracey Emin, Floris perfume, and Katch Skinner portrait egg cups). There's also jewellery, fashion and accessories inspired by the gallery's collection, alongside sustainable and locally sourced gifts and homewares.

You'll find this treasure trove just inside the gallery, right by its Ross Place entrance — so it's super easy to just pop in if you find yourself in the Leicester Square area and are short on time. (Last minute gift-givers, we see you). What's more, the shop's open till 9pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. Ideal if you're after an extra-special souvenir to round off a day out in London!
Below you'll find a few of our favourite things you can buy right now in the National Portrait Gallery Shop. But it's well worth going there yourself and having a rummage (though if that's tricky for you, you can also shop online). National Portrait Gallery members get 10% off both in-store and online, and with every purchase you'll be supporting an iconic cultural institution. If that's not a great excuse to treat yourself, we don't know what is.

Munch-themed marvels
The National Portrait Gallery is hosting a fascinating Edvard Munch exhibition right now, which means a selection of goodies inspired by the creator of The Scream have appeared in its shop. Pick up an Edvard Munch Portraits hardcover catalogue to dive deeper into a sometimes overlooked aspect of the artist's work; pick up a postcard of your favourite portrait; or splurge on an incredible Rejina Pyo silk scarf, created in collaboration between the artist and the Munch Museum.

Green-fingered goodies
This spring, the National Portrait Gallery Shop is giving a nod to Munch's love of the outdoors in its spring edit. Here you'll find several gardening products, from vibrantly-packaged Arthouse Unlimited Seeds, to a gloriously flamboyant glass watering can by Block Design.
Terrific tableware
Spring calls for garden parties, and the National Portrait Gallery Shop can help you seriously elevate your tablescaping game. Rex London's playful rattan placemats and coasters are a great match for the striking colourways and sculptural details of Florence Mytum's handcrafted ceramics. Complete your whimsical set up with felt flowers by Gry & Sif and Rex London dip dye candles.

So many of these goodies would make great gifts, and — with greetings cards and wrapping paper available in-store — you can consider it a one-stop-shop for special occasions this spring. Convenience shopping never looked (or felt) so good.
The National Portrait Gallery is open 10.30am-6pm Sunday-Thursday and 10.30am-9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. See what's on here. The shop is open during these hours, and you can browse any time online here.
