You Can Watch Classic Horror Films In This Hidden Masonic Temple

If you're a fan of classic horror, you'll have already seen Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs and The Sixth Sense. BUT have you watched them in a masonic temple, secreted away in a central London hotel?

Temple Cinema regularly screens films in this neoclassical lodge, discovered during renovations inside what's now the Andaz London Liverpool Street.

Obviously didn't buy a ticket in time

The autumn season is all about movies that make you jump out of your skin — and the eerily beautiful setting, once used for the mysterious rites of Victorian freemasons, will certain add a frisson to the proceedings.

The full run of films is:

  • 29 August: The Orphanage
  • 26 September: The Sixth Sense
  • 31 October: Psycho
  • 28 November: Silence of The Lambs

Word of warning: it doesn't look like those chairs have any cushions to hide behind. Just saying.

Temple Cinema runs from 29 August-28 November. Screenings £20pp (including bottomless popcorn). A pricier options, including bento box, is also available.
