If you're a fan of classic horror, you'll have already seen Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs and The Sixth Sense. BUT have you watched them in a masonic temple, secreted away in a central London hotel?
Temple Cinema regularly screens films in this neoclassical lodge, discovered during renovations inside what's now the Andaz London Liverpool Street.
The autumn season is all about movies that make you jump out of your skin — and the eerily beautiful setting, once used for the mysterious rites of Victorian freemasons, will certain add a frisson to the proceedings.
The full run of films is:
- 29 August: The Orphanage
- 26 September: The Sixth Sense
- 31 October: Psycho
- 28 November: Silence of The Lambs
Word of warning: it doesn't look like those chairs have any cushions to hide behind. Just saying.
Temple Cinema runs from 29 August-28 November. Screenings £20pp (including bottomless popcorn). A pricier options, including bento box, is also available.
