Stroud Green Road's White Lion is the perfect spot for people watching, pint in hand. There's a big open terrace that spills out onto the street and the spacious vibe continues throughout the pub. Drinks-wise, the pub has just about everything you need. A strong selection of beers (with some rotating guest ales), wines and cocktails. It's also a gastropub; we weren't bowled over by the food but that might have been due to the lack of meat eaters in our party to thoroughly try everything out.
The interior design of the pub isn't afraid to stray a little from gastropub norms. Complementing the rustic style is a sense of fun, especially the colourful murals that brighten up the back room. This motif continues on to the big collage taking pride of place on the walls. It's dedicated to everything lion based, even anthropomorphic comic book creatures (our inner nerd was overjoyed to see b-list villain Tigra).
