Fun's the word at Holloway Road's Victoria. This is part pub, part pleasure house, with first-floor distractions that include an arcade and crazy golf.
The downstairs also has a playful feel, no doubt targeting the student demographic at nearby London Metropolitan University. Regular movie nights, a pop culture quiz and comedy evenings betoken a place that's as much a community centre as boozer.
The beer selection is keg-heavy, with local ales from the kind of people who like to produce gaudy branding (Beavertown, we're looking at you). A good range of cans widens the net, while a decent, gin-focused cocktail list adds to the goodtime feel.
The L-shaped bar conceals a reasonably sized seating area at the back, which also gives access to the 'garden' (actually a small yard that communicates, bizarrely, with a car repair place).
The food choice is binary: pizza or salad. But the selection within each category is mouthwatering. 13 house pizzas, for example, more than half of which are vegetarian. And you can build your own if the baker's dozen doesn't tick your pizza box.
