Just a short walk from one of London's most bombastic venues (the Emirates stadium) is one of its most understated. Perhaps London's best-lit pub, The Lamb is filled with warmth from the moment you step inside.
Its commitment to lighting only helps further when the pub transforms into a live music venue. Different genres are rattled out on various evenings, but our pick is the Tuesday night traditional Irish music session. Holloway Road's history is entangled with that of the Irish immigrant community, so we're cheered to see its legacy continued forwards.
It's also lifting to see a London pub with a focus on London beers both on draught and bottled: Camden Town Brewery, Hamerton, Hackney Brewery, Five Points, By The Horns, Beavertown and so much more. Some of these guys are permanent residents while others form part of the rotating guest ale lineup. All of them are quality.
There's no food made in house but don't panic, as you can order in either from Yard Sale Pizza (have a guess what they serve), or a gourmet burger and chips from La Muse.
