Here's a missed opportunity for a visual pun. The Eagle is just off Goldhawk Road, but rather than sport a golden eagle on the pub sign, they've gone for a bald eagle. Surely some mistake.
Fortunately, the pub itself is a charming, comfortable affair, famed for its splendid beer garden. We visited on a cold, autumnal night so opted to stay indoors, beside a roaring fire.
This is a Geronimo pub, and typically looks good from both a diner's or drinker's perspective. The beer selection is reasonable enough, but the wine list is more extensive than most.
It's a long way to the nearest tube station, so bag a comfy seat and make a night of it.
