The Audley is precisely half way between Oxford Street and Piccadilly and it has all the vim and vibrancy of those two world-renowned streets. It's a beautiful pub. The traditional wooden interior (it even has a carpet) clashes superbly with the arty ceiling and other creative flourishes. It doesn't feel like Mayfair at all.

The drinks selection is serviceable — four cask pumps and a wide selection of kegs. The food menu is playful, with an extensive spread of snacks (from scotch egg to London rarebit to something called cockle popcorn). And have a good sniff on the way down to the toilets — some kind of arty musk hangs in the air. The place is a sensory joy.
The photos you see above are from the geekiest London pub crawl ever, when Tim Dunn, Ian Visits, Diamond Geezer, Geoff Marshall and Londonist's Matt Brown all sat down for a Londony natter.
