Newbuild pubs are a rarity. Eye-catching newbuild pubs, even more so. But Fuller's One Over The Ait is a handsome devil — certainly more pleasant than Fuller's other riverside jonny-come-lately, The Sail Loft in Greenwich.
The name, too, is a novelty; no doubt unique. An 'ait' is an island in a river. One of London's largest — Brentford Ait — is situated right next to the pub.

Inside, all is modern and spotless. Those who are fussy about their seating will find a bounty of options, from padded sofas to hard-backed dining chairs to bar stools. Set over two spacious floors, you're unlikely to have to stand.

This is a great place to drink or dine al fresco — one of the best in London. The pub is decked all around with outdoor tables, with wrap-around balcony seating at first floor level. You may just curse the ait for intruding on views of the Thames.

As this is a Fuller's pub, you can expect the usual excellent, if unsurprising range of food and drink.
