Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. Is you local listed?
Central Greenwich is awash with slightly-better-than-OK pubs, many catering for the area's busy tourist sector. The apostrophe-dodging Kings Arms feels a little more 'local' than some of its rivals, despite its prime location on the street up to the park and National Maritime Museum.

The interior is spacious, with large tables to accommodate groups and smaller, cosier corners. The back room is particularly nice, so long as you don't mind sharing your session with some very large portraits of kings and queens.

The pub's best feature is its beer garden. It's of a decent size and well hidden from the road, meaning it doesn't get as busy as that of the nearby Gipsy Moth. The space includes a pair of tables in large shed-like structures (improbably called 'Bob' and 'Dave'), which would be fun to inhabit in all weathers.

The pub is tied to Greene King, but with six cask lines the options go beyond the usual IPA and Abbot. Likewise, the food is tempting if nothing revolutionary. A good all-rounder, this place, especially for such a touristy stretch.
