The march of the chain bar-pub continues apace, with the latest instalment (opened May 2019) of Craft Beer Co.
This Hammersmith instantiation feels a little different to its stablemates. Gone are the homely brown and red shades in favour of a unique pink and green palette. The otherworldly colour-scheme sits within an illuminated hexagonal lattice that puts us in mind of the Tardis interior. It's definitely not what we'd expect to find inside a Hammersmith shopping mall.
'Doesn't look like a pub to me,' grumbled someone on our Pubs Facebook group. And, no, it doesn't. But like all Craft Beer Co. bars, this place serves ales by the score. 20 keg lines and six cask pumps should see you through to closing time. Throw in the 50+ bottled beers, and the completist could be here for weeks.
A small beer yard out back mashes up with al fresco space from neighbouring eateries to create the kind of convivial culinary courtyard you don't normally associate with Hammersmith. We still prefer a tipple by the river, but this place does better beer, and is supremely handy for the tube. Well played Craft Beer Co.
