"Step outside of the Camden Head and you’re immediately next to the market stalls of Camden," says Greene King website for this pub. Not unless you have a three-mile stride you're not. The Camden Head is firmly and confusingly in Islington, not Camden... though it is on Camden Passage... which does have stalls... but isn't Camden.

Nitpicking aside, once you're within, the location doesn't really matter all that much. This late Victorian pub is Grade II-listed and contains many of its original features, such as etched glass windows and mirrors and the old clock above the bar. It's one of the more beautiful bolt-holes in Islington in which to sink a pint.

The pub has other virtues, too, including an outdoor seating area beside the bustling Camden Passage, and daily free comedy nights (not to be confused with the comedy nights at Camden's Camden Head!), where you can often catch big names honing their set.
