Groundling tickets at the Globe aren't the only way to catch a Shakespeare production en plein air in London this summer.
Shakespeare in the Squares is back — with a troupe of Shakespearian actors performing amidst "the fairest flowers o th' season"* in a number of the city's picturesque garden squares.
This time around, it's All's Well That Ends Well — a 'problem' play, which has the infatuated Helena foist her love on aristocratic warrior Bertram (well, this is the year of Baby Reindeer, after all).
Among the bucolic London venues becoming a makeshift stage are Kensington Gardens Square (22 June), Montagu Square in Marylebone (27 June), Camden Square (29 June), and Cleveland Square in Paddington (11 and 12 July).
A few non-squares are joining in with the action too, including Syon House (26 June), Clitterhouse Playing Fields (30 June) and The Actors' Church Garden in Covent Garden (5 and 6 July). You can check out a full list of gardens and dates on the Shakespeare in the Squares website.
By the way, if this outdoor Shakespeare lark is your cup of tea/parcel-gilt goblet of wine, you can also catch an al fresco production of The Tempest at Walthamstow's Greek Theatre in July.
