Jimmy Dean's favourite book was always Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's whimsical The Little Prince—the tale of a stranded pilot who meets an inquisitive prince who comes from a tiny planet with two active volcanoes (which are very convenient for cooking his breakfast).
Dean was not the only fan of the book; since 1943, it has tugged at the heartstrings of many kids and adults (it's been translated into 250 languages and sold 200 million copies), before recently finding new life as a stage spectacular of dance, aerial acrobatics, and video mapping technology — as performed by the Broadway Entertainment Group.
Having played sell-out shows in Paris, Sydney and Dubai over the last couple of years — as well as a season on Broadway — The Little Prince will now come to the London Coliseum in 2025, though for a very limited run: 12-16 March. Tickets are on sale now, and given the show has previously received five-stars from the likes of Le Figaro and Le Parisien, they might not last long. Rather like the titular character.
