All right everyone, gird your loins!
Coming to the West End this autumn: the bestselling book and film — which offer an insight into the brutal world of a New York fashion magazine — have been turned into a new musical, with an original score written by Elton John and lyrics by American composer Shaina Taub.
The Devil Wears Prada centres around Andy, a recent college graduate who lands a job at Runway magazine (played by Anne Hathaway in the film), and faces an impossibly demanding boss in Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) as she gets sucked into the glamorous and ruthless world of fashion.
If you've seen the 2006 film, then it'll come as no surprise that this is going to be a flamboyant, star-studded production, with Vanessa Williams — from Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives — in the role of Miranda Priestly, Matt Henry (Kinky Boots) as Nigel and Amy Di Bartolomeo (Six) as Emily.
So don't just sit there. Book tickets or something.
The Devil Wears Prada launches at the Dominion Theatre in October 2024. We have a batch of £30 tickets available for dates throughout the run
