A protest against the Conservative Party's proposed five-week closure of Parliament is planned for Downing Street on Saturday.
Organised by anti-Brexit group Another Europe Is Possible, along with other political groups, the Stop The Coup, Defend Democracy event rallies against what it refers to as Boris Johnson's 'Brexit agenda'.
It follows on from a last-minute protest against the extended recess of Parliament in central London on Wednesday evening, in which crowds chanted 'Stop the coup', on a route between College Green in Westminster and Downing Street.
#StopTheCoup is a nationwide movement, with simultaneous events in many cities including Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton and York on Saturday at 12pm. More information here.
