The six-lane lido will be filled with natural water, and open year-round.

Canary Wharf is set to get a new lido, opening on Friday 19 June.

Known as Sea Lanes Canary Wharf, the floating, natural water lido is a six-lane Olympic-sized pool, operated by the outfit behind Sea Lanes Brighton, the UK's first National Open Water Swimming Centre.

Canary Wharf already has an outdoor swimming area, Eden Dock, open from summer through to the autumn. Sea Lanes Canary Wharf is an addition to this, situated in the north-west of Eden Dock, offering year-round swimming, complete with saunas, a community clubhouse and a seating area serving refreshments.

Designed for swimmers of all ages and abilities, the lido is a 'stepping stone' between pool and open water swimming. Flexible pay-as-you-swim sessions are on offer, as well as membership options. And if you're wondering about that 'natural water'? The water quality of Eden Dock is regularly tested against EU Bathing Water Standards, and consistently rated "Excellent".

Says Joe McNulty, Director at Sea Lanes: "This is about so much more than swimming, it's about creating a space where people can feel better, move more, and reconnect with nature and each other.

"Bringing open water swimming into central London in this way is something truly special, and we can't wait to welcome people in."
