Crowdfunding For Inflatable Trump Baby Smashes Target

Let's see him in all his over-inflated glory shall we.

The likelihood of Trump Baby gracelessly bobbing above the London skyline, during the US President's visit to the UK on 13 July has come closer to reality, now that a crowdfunding campaign has smashed its £5,000 target.

"Make our six meter high orange, inflatable baby with a malevolent face and tiny hands fly over central London during Trump's UK visit," ran the campaign. Trump protesters have put their money where their mouths are, stumping up over £9,000 at the time of writing. [UPDATE: Trump Baby has now raised over £13k].

Although the nappy-wearing dirigible has already been made, the campaign needed £700 worth of helium to keep it afloat, plus more cash for barge hire, should it be unable to secure a central London launch site. [UPDATE: a surge in funding means that Trump Baby now may be going on a world tour].

What's the point of Trump Baby exactly? Says the campaign website, "Moral outrage is water off a duck's back to Trump. But he really seems to hate it when people make fun of him.

"So when Trump visits the UK on Friday the 13th of July this year, we want to make sure he knows that all of Britain is looking down on him and laughing at him."

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has distanced himself from the project, although, come on, he soooo wants it to happen.

It is not yet clear where in the UK Trump will visit on 13 July.
