Folio London Is Putting London's Renters First (When They Need It Most)

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Folio London.

Folio London are providing a dedicated online space for their residents to connect, share and interact (like this, but virtually!)

Folio London is here for renters. They have been for some time. But just as life has changed recently, so too has this private rental organisation adjusted the support they offer to current and future residents. More than a home, they offer a community — something that’s more important now than ever.

Let’s face it, the term ‘private rental company’ probably doesn’t fill you with optimism, does it? But Folio London have already made a name for themselves on London's housing market thanks to straightforward perks like free furniture packages, zero fees and award-winning developments across the capital. We’re talking beautiful apartments, brand spanking new appliances, well-connected locations and ongoing support from a dedicated team who know your name.

You know what they say, home is where the... plant is?

That human connection is key, so when lockdown turned us all indoors, Folio’s first port of call was to check in on residents. Weekly welfare calls and digital newsletters continue to keep renters up-to-date and in communication with the team. They even throw in a few nifty tidbits, like Uber Eats and Patch Plants discounts so everyone can stay well-fed and green-fingered during their time spent at home.

And that’s not all. Community groups on Facebook have sprung up so Folio renters have a dedicated space to come together, share information and offer help. It’s a lifeline during an uncertain time, but also a welcome distraction. Weekly competitions, ranging from cooking challenges to sharing your (often creative!) home workout setup, give residents the chance to snap up bonus shopping vouchers. Every little helps.

Folio have even let their residents take the reins for a fortnight of Instagram live streams dedicated to showcasing hobbies, talents and crafts. There were guitar lessons, fitness classes, yoga sessions, baking tutorials — even a magic show! Oh, and the obligatory pub quiz of course. Free for residents and non-residents alike, these live-streamed events were a welcome salve to lockdown listlessness — a reminder that human connection is never too far away.

Last week, I received a phone call from Folio. And immediately wondered what was wrong (as you would). But it was simply someone checking in to see how I was. There was no sales pitch to buy something, no nagging because I hadn’t done something. It was a simple “Hi, just checking to see how you are and if there’s anything we can do for you”… It’s strange how much the simple things can matter but they really can. So thank you for that. It was genuinely appreciated. - Folio resident

It’s not just current renters who get all the good stuff though. Folio London want to make finding your dream pad as simple, and as safe, as it can be during this difficult time, which is why house-hunters can expect a few welcome extras too. The biggie? Three weeks rent-free to welcome you into your new home! Talk about an incentive…

Virtual viewings are available across all their London residences, from Harrow to Canada Water, so you can be sure you like what you see before arranging an on-site visit. The cherry on top? Those free furniture packs — a Folio London staple that are sleek, stylish, and mean you won’t have to schlep around shops when you’d rather be tucked safely inside your lovely new gaff. Simple as that.
