Want to see one of the top two Star Trek captains live on stage? Of course you do.
William Shatner, Captain James Tiberius Kirk himself, will be live at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on 16 March 2020. Why are we telling you now? Because tickets go on sale on 2 August 2019, and you'll need to engage warp nine to secure a seat.
Shatner's 'in conversation' and Q&A slot will follow a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, widely acclaimed as the best of the 13 Trek movies and nothing to do with our present Mayor.
His appearance is well timed. The franchise will be firing on all cylinders in 2020 with the return of Jean-Luc Picard in his own eponymous series. Throw in a third outing for the excellent Star Trek Discovery, a new animated series, and a possible Tarantino movie, and these really are exciting times for Starfleet fans.
With so much Trek in the air, Shatner may yet make his own return to our screens as Kirk. Until then, a date at the Eventim Apollo is the best way to catch up with the big man.
William Shatner on Stage and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan are at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on 16 March 2020. Tickets on sale 2 August 2019, £29.50, £35, £49.50, £70.50, £201 (VIP).
Pedant's Note: Our headline states that Shatner will 'beam in' to Hammersmith when he will probably be driven there by conventional transport. We acknowledge that this is misleading. However, it is journalistic law that any item concerning Star Trek must either make a play on the phrase 'beaming in/up', or else instruct the reader to 'set phasers to fun'. We chose the lesser of two evils.
