Eyes up at the RAF Museum this summer — not just for the museum's impressive collection of planes, but for aerial theatre performance Trailblazers, which tells the stories of unsung heroes from aviation history.
The specially-commissioned show comes from award-winning children's theatre troupe Highly Sprung Productions, whose cast members soar and glide through the air above you, entertaining and enthralling children (and adults, too).
Take the whole family along to hear stories of well-known figures like Amelia Earhart, but also obscure pioneers like brave Bessie Coleman. The immersive experience is designed to challenge preconceptions and celebrate resilience, courage and innovation. It will leave kids wanting to learn more about the people featured.
Which is handy, when you think about where the show takes place. The RAF Museum is home to six hangars packed full of history, along with two cafes and a gift shop to help you make a day of it this summer. And, as we can personally testify, it has a pretty awesome aviation-themed playground, too!
Summer Flying Theatre - Trailblazers takes place inside Hangar 4 at the RAF Museum London, every Wednesday-Sunday, 25 July-1 September 2024, 11am and 2pm. Tickets from £10, advance booking required. The show is suitable for age 4+.
