London Is Getting Its First Ever Whisky Hotel

Whisky lovers, your prayers have been heard.

Black Rock — which has been voted UK’s Best Specialist Bar three years in a row — is expanding into a hotel, dedicated to all things whisky.

While the basement remains a bar, the four upper floors are to be converted into the Black Tavern. It's a "more informal" alternative to the original bar — with a stunning Japanese-inspired décor offering guests a choice of 40 to 50 whiskies. Then there's the blending room, where you can make and take home your own 500ml bottle of whisky (assuming you haven't already glugged it all down). Finally the pièce de résistance: three overnight rooms, so you don't need to try and find your own way home after having one too many tipples.

While the tavern officially launched on July 5, the hotel and the blending room won’t open until later this summer.

Black Rock on on Christopher Street, Finsbury, EC2A 2BS. Open Monday-Saturday from 5pm
