Attention all beer fanatics! You need to get your chops around a glass of Goose Island's 2021 vintage of Bourbon County Stout.
For an extremely limited time, this cult phenomenon bourbon-barrel aged beer is making an appearance in London (and beyond). The tap takeover is in select Mitchell & Butlers pubs, for a limited time in November.
Trust us, you'll want to make the effort to taste it.
First created in 1992 by Goose Island's brewmaster (and brewed in small batches every year since at their Chicago brewery), Bourbon County Stout has become a yearly must-drink for beer lovers.
The midnight black, complex 2021 vintage is aged in a mix of bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill and Wild Turkey distilleries. Flavours of chocolate, vanilla, oak, whiskey and molasses are followed with notes of caramel, berry fruit and almond — talk about a winter warmer.
And — with an ABV of 14.4% — it's fair to say that this 2021 vintage of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout packs a proper punch.
In fact, it's no exaggeration to say this is one of the most sought-after beers in the world. Even if you're not a beer aficionado, we reckon you'll want to order yourself a glass, just to see what all the fuss is about.
Beer drinkers usually hunt down Bourbon County Stout in bottles, but this time round the legendary beer is available in select pubs on draught, in addition to bottles. In fact, this is the biggest UK tap takeover the beer has ever seen — pouring at Mitchells & Butlers pub across the UK.
Still, as we say, Bourbon County Stout's time here is fleeting, so you'll want to get yourself to a participating bar while you can.
So, where exactly can you find Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout on tap? This pub finder has the answer!
If you find yourself outside of London, Bourbon County Stout is on tap in a selection of pubs across the country. As long, of course, as stocks last.
