Invented in 1980s Soho for a thirsty, dissipated model, the espresso martini went on to win over the hearts and taste buds of thousands.
So much so, that London now has an Espresso Martini Society. And after shifting 20,000 cocktails at previous events, they're now back with a Christmas-themed festival.
Marshmallow, gingerbread and Ferrero Rocher are among the twists on Dick Bradsell's caffeinated concoction — which will be available at the Espresso Martini Society's drinking experience in King's Cross. (Purists fear not - the original espresso martini is also available to sup.)
Running selected days from 22 November-14 December at KO Coffee in King's Cross, ticketed sessions last one and a half hours, and allow you sample as much as you like in that time (note: this is a sipping drink, so go for the flavours, not to get totally trollied).
Espresso Martini Society, KO Coffee, 258 Pentonville Road, Fridays and Saturdays from 22 November-14 December. Tickets £25 (+booking fee) for a 90 minute session.
