Somerset House's winter ice rink turns 20 this year — and it's celebrating by staying open all night.
Skate at Somerset House will be open to keen skaters for 24 hours (cheeky 2am skate, anyone?), tying in with the venue's major winter exhibition 24/7. If thats' a bit too wild for you, Skate Lates also return on selected evenings, with live DJs spinning the decks until late into the evening.
Once again, Fortnum & Mason sponsors the ice rink, which means we can expect a towering 40ft Christmas tree bedecked with Fortnum hampers, the Alpine-themed foodie Fortnum Lodge, and a shopping arcade stocked by the posh department store.
The rink-side Skate Lounge is run by Bailey's, meaning booze-laced hot chocolate to warm the cockles after a spin on the ice. Take a look at our video of last year's ice rink:
Skate at Somerset House is in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, 13 November 2019-12 January 2020. Tickets go on sale in September 2019. Dates for 24 hour skate sessions have not yet been announced.
