From Ice Cream Cocktails To Festive Films, This Forest-Inspired Pop-Up Is A Winter Wonderland

Christmas in London is a time to bundle up and seek out those corners of the capital that promise snuggly festive cheer with a cocktail in hand. And there's one little London nook set to make all your cosy Christmas dreams a reality.

Welcome to the Secret Forest Bar, a dreamy pop-up where indulgent cocktails, warming Scandi snacks and a roster of your favourite festive films await. Sounds pretty tempting, but how do you find it? Step one, hop off the tube at Knightsbridge. Step two, make a beeline for Harvey Nichols in all its seasonal splendour. Step three, make your way up to the fifth floor and let the twinkling woodland canopy lead the way...

Inside, a booze and snack-filled hideaway inspired by the Northern Lights awaits. It's always night time at the Secret Forest Bar, which means the you can settle down with an ice cream cocktail while the lights of the Aurora Borealis dance and dart overhead.

Yep, you read that right — ice cream cocktails. Start the chocolate guzzling early and send your sweet tooth into overdrive with a Merry Mudslide made from Enosis Mastiha liqueur, salted caramel ice cream, Austrian Mozart chocolate and fresh strawberries. Fancy something a little more virtuous? Try the Red Sky at Night cocktail instead, packing a citrussy combo of Aperol, Italicus liqueur and zingy lemon sorbet.

But it's not all sugar and spice. When hunger strikes, savoury Nordic dishes are on hand to fill you up and make you feel toastier than a melted marshmallow. There's hearty Swedish meatballs with garlic mash and onion sauce, or give the kantarellmacka a whirl. This Scandi snack is akin to a cheesy, mushroomy, cabbagey toastie and is all sorts of oozy goodness.

For dessert? Cinnamon buns, of course. Or a helping of vanilla and cardamom spiced popcorn, which will go down a treat at one of the Secret Forest Bar's festive film screenings. Right through 'til January, this delightful den is also home to a pocket cinema. Twice a week you have the chance to grab a drink, pick out a snack and then settle down in this winter wonderland for showings of classic favourites like The Muppet Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, It's A Wonderful Life and Polar Express.

Find the Secret Forest Bar on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols, 109-125 Knightsbridge, SW1X 7RJ. It's open seven days a week until Sunday 5 January 2020, with film screenings every Wednesday and Sunday.
