Miracle — a bar more Christmassy than Macaulay Culkin sat on the back of a reindeer eating a mince pie — is back for its ninth year in central London, this time in a larger venue. Here's the lowdown snowdown.
Miracle has become a bit of a 'thing' hasn't it? Absolutely. Starting out life as NYC's Miracle on Ninth Street bar in 2014, this orgy of kitschy holiday cocktails has since been franchised in over 90 (!) places across the world. From 2028, Miracle took over a room in Covent Garden's Henrietta hotel each year since, and was known as 'Miracle at Henrietta'. It has a brand new home in 2026, however — a larger venue at 9 Russell Street — and shall henceforth be known as Miracle on Russell Street.
What's the vibe then? It's Kiiiiiiiitschmas! The sort of tinsel-choked, glow-up-plastic-Santa-Claus kinda yule that's so unashamedly gaudy, the people who do the Blackpool illuminations might think "Well that's a bit much".
Are the drinks Christmassy too? And how! 2026's menu features the Christmapolitain (vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary, absinthe mist), the Snowball Old Fashioned (bourbon, gingerbread, aromatic & wormwood bitters, orange essence) and the Candy Cane Lane (rum, vanilla liqueur, dark creme de cacao, Fernet Branca Menta, candy cane, soy milk).
All served up in uber chintzy festive drinkware, it makes your average glass of whisky mac look like Dry January.
How tempting is it to steal the drinkware? Excruciatingly. Probably why the bar sells novelty mugs and glasses, so you can get your souvenir without winding up in the, er, jug.
When is Miracle on Russell Street 2026 taking place? It's open 9 November-30 December 2026. As you can imagine, it's mighty popular, and you'll want to book a slot (each one is 1 hour 30 mins — and frankly any longer than this, and you'd wind up like the former Bishop of Southwark).
They also keep a few walk-in spots each day.
