Talking trees, a twinkling maze, and a disco ball suspended over a moat... Enchanted Eltham is back for Christmas 2019.

The beguiling light festival takes place in the gardens of the English Heritage building over three weekends this winter. The trail winds through the grounds after dark, lighting up historic walls, manicured gardens and towering trees. Parts of the event are choreographed to music, and it's all extremely photogenic.

Take a pitstop halfway round the 1.2 mile route to toast marshmallows over an open fire, and finish up with hot drinks and food in the funfair area at the end of the family-friendly trail.

Highlights last year include an oh-so Intagrammable light tunnel on a bridge over the moat, a twinkling light maze for kids to get lost in, and an animated talking tree, offering his opinions to anyone who cared to listen.
