Our pick of London's festive hampers, to give you the perfect excuse to keep your curtains drawn and your heating on high.

Big Night — the Biggest Night Christmas hamper

Big Night pack a lot of big names into their festive hampers. The Biggest Night box most of all, with contents including — but very much not limited to — a bottle of red and a spiced, wintry twist on a negroni from Oranj Wine, biscuits from Lina Stores, za'atar pitta chips from Ottolenghi, malt dark chocolate from Land. A little tour of some of London's finest, basically, all wedged into one massive, luxurious package that could tide you gently through a few days' worth of elegant aperitivo hours or, more appealingly, get smashed through in one huge unrestrained session.

Details: £95, and free delivery.

Turnips — the plant-based festive hamper

A wholesome take on a festive hamper from Borough Market restaurant Turnips, this brings together the fanciest of fresh fruits, with some old-school sweet snacks — candied chestnuts, jellied fruits, dark chocolate sticks. There's also a bottle of English sparkling wine in there, so you can kick back with a glass of fizz and a fistful of lychees for a very opulent Christmas Eve or Boxing Day brunch.

Details: £140, for local deliveries and collection only.

The Belgian bakery chain have crammed a lot of their signature moves into this festive hamper, with all the Christmassy baked goods you'd expect — including mince pies, a huge loaf of vegan stollen, and a vegan gingerbread star. But it also includes plenty of other staples and luxuries to keep you snacking from breakfast to midnight feasts: a bag of their in-house coffee blend, jars of jam and speculoos spread, rye and charcoal crackers, chocolate almonds, a bottle of wine, and more. They've even thrown in a £15 gift card for their shops so you can pick up some ovenfresh breads — or, okay, more cake — to go with it.

Details: £108, for delivery in London or collection from their bakeries.

Provisions Wine & Cheese have gone big for their Christmas hamper line up this year, with nine variations ranging from wine-only packages to big, sprawling collections of their cheese, wine, and charcuterie greatest hits. The Festive Hamper — £105, which places it somewhere in the middle of their hamper pricing — includes multiple wines, cheese, cured meat, tinned fish, biscuits, chocolate, and olive oil. All the good stuff — most of it French-slanted, and all of it from boutiquey, small-batch brands.

The Christmas Connoisseur hamper includes a lot of luxuries — smoked salmon, port, caviar, and, importantly, five cheeses.

The Arnie's our pick if you have a crowd — for six to eight people, three carefully sourced, lesser-spotted British cheeses (with a set of vegetarian options), and everything you need to turn that into an in-front-of-the-fireplace picnic: cornichons, flatbreads, honey, pepper and fennel salami, sundried tomatoes, salted almonds. Everything the body needs.

Chrissy's Kitchen - Christmas hamper

London caterers Chrissy's Kitchen's hamper has a nicely carby, cheese-heavy slant: spiced nuts, cheese straws, cheese biscuits, tiny mince pies, wheel of cheese, chutney, and crackers, and chocolate truffles.

This one could be an afternoon's eating for two, or snacks for six. The ingredients are sourced from small producers, the packaging's recyclable, and you can add in other cakes, snacks, and pastries from their shop for an extra charge — we recommend including a sticky slab of brownies, or the orange drizzle cake.

Details: £50, not including delivery — charges vary.
