The destruction caused by the Israel-Hamas war is still unfolding, with a devastating impact for the civilians caught in the conflict. Emergency response and disaster relief teams in the region are working to deliver urgent aid and medical treatment to the injured and displaced. Below are some of the fundraising events and initiatives running in London at time of writing.

To the best of our knowledge these are events/fundraising efforts supporting organisations delivering crucial, lifesaving aid on the ground to the communities in urgent need of medical support and basic supplies. We won't be including events that contribute to the horrifying increase of Islamophobic and anti-semitic discourse in the UK.

  • A raffle run by south London pasta kings Forza Wine — enter here. Tickets are £1, with no limit to how many you can buy. All proceeds go to Action Against Hunger UK. Prizes include £150 vouchers for Hawksmoor and Forza Win, a £200 lunch voucher for Kolae, dinner for two at Brunswick House, a home-delivery shrimp boil from Decatur — and those are just a handful of our favourites. There are also clubnight tickets, fermentation classes, cases of beer, natural wine and more. Buy tickets before 1 Nov

Organisations working on the ground to deliver aid

Choose Love: A humanitarian aid organisation supporting victims of conflict, refugees and displaced people around the world.

Action Against Hunger UK: Emergency teams are working with local partners who still have stock inside Gaza to distribute supplies — water, food, nappies, clothes, mattresses — to displaced and vulnerable communities. They are also running an emergency ceasefire petition to be sent to the UK government, to allow more humanitarian aid to be sent into Gaza.

The DEC are not currently running an appeal of their own but have a list of organisations they recommend supporting with donations.

These are, obviously, a tiny fraction of the organisations working to effect meaningful change. Double check the source/organisation you're planning to donate to if it's a fund you've just spotted on social: we've heard reports of a number of fake crowdfunders in circulation.
