Hummingbird opens in UK cinemas on Friday 28 June and to celebrate, we’re giving away five DVD bundles from Lionsgate UK.
Starring Jason Statham, with Vicky McClure and Benedict Wong, Hummingbird marks the directorial debut of Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight, and completes his trilogy of London-set films that began with Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, exploring the lives of the capital’s inhabitants.
Living homeless on the streets after going on the run from a military court-martial, Joey (Statham) is a damaged ex-special forces soldier trapped in London’s criminal underworld. But when opportunity enables him to assume the identity of a wealthy stranger, he is transformed into an avenging angel.
This is a gritty action thriller with London as a co-star — watch out for plenty of Soho scenes, some stunning London skylines and glimpses of Covent Garden and Regent’s Park.
