Woah, boy! A new festive season of magical horse rides through Richmond Park is happening this winter.
From the end of November to the start of January, you can sit in the back of a vintage carriage (or brake, if you want to be exact), and be pulled through the glorious Royal Park, by a couple of handsome Shire horses. (Alas, we cannot promise a crisp, snowy day.)
The 75-minute ride includes sloe gin and mince pies — served up in a pre-ride visit to the horses' stables. You also get a blanket to snuggle under while you ride around, although we recommend turning up in something more substantial than your PJs.
The tickets price (£156.90) is certainly not thrifty, although proceeds to go towards the excellent work carried out by organisers Operation Centaur.
We took a ride with a couple of the horse, Roy and Aragon, a couple of years back:
Magical Carriage Rides, 29 November-5 January, £156.90 for a pair of tickets (tickets only available in pairs). Note: you may be sharing the carriage with other pairs.
