London’s Best Olympics-Themed Food And Drink
The Rio Grande at Burgershack.

Food

Burgerac’s Burgershack: You should go here for some of the best burgers in London anyway, and now for the Olympics there's a new special: The Rio Grande. It’s not a super large burger but rather an homage to the birthplace of Brazilian churrasco barbecue, the Rio Grande do Sul. The burger is made with a dry aged beef and bone marrow patty, requeijão cremoso (homemade Brazilian style cream cheese), smoked bacon, molho à campanha (Brazilian salsa), pickled red onion and an avocado and lime mayo.

Bodean’s: In addition to the usual meaty BBQ menu, Bodean’s are serving some Brazilian inspired dishes. Try chicken churrasco with a tomato and mango salad, washed down with a Raspadilla Caipirinha, or a heady Batida with crushed ice and Abelha Cachaca.

Bodean’s, various locations, see website for details.

Ben’s Canteen: Try a Brazilian style brunch at Ben’s Canteen's Earlsfield and Battersea sites. They’ll be serving huevos rancheros, a papaya fruit salad with granola, coconut and yoghurt, and pichana steak with fried eggs and green salsa.

Sushi Samba: The high rise sushi restaurant will be serving an Olympics menu including Bolinhos de Bacalhau with Peruvian potato and Yellowtail nigiri with coconut and lime. There will also be a range of Brazilian inspired cocktails.

Casa Havana Pop Up: This two week pop-up events space, bar and restaurant will open on 11 August serving a five course menu. The dishes include pork crackling crisps with spiced black beans; cheese and parsley rolled tacos with lobster; a taco with all the flavours of a Cuban sandwich, shredded beef with twice fried plantains and a seabass ceviche with mint and lime. A Havana Club cocktail will be served with each course.

Sexy Fish: The restaurant with the dodgy name is serving a Brazilian soft serve ice cream for the duration of the Olympics – it’s avocado and chocolate flavour, topped with a dark chocolate truffle.

Olympic torches or cocktails? At The Cinnamon Club.

Cocktails

The Cinnamon Club: The Olympics will be screened in The Cinnamon Club bar, where you can order a number of Olympics inspired cocktails. The High Dive is fresh blueberries muddled with raspberries, topped with Champagne and served with a hibiscus rim, or perhaps you’d fancy a Fiery Torch - tequila, fresh mint, fresh lime and spiced vanilla sugar, swizzled and topped with cranberry juice.

Bunga Bunga: Not known for its understatement, Bunga Bunga are going typically all-out in honour of the Games. Upstairs will be an Olympic-themed pop up inside a South American inspired beach shack called Cocobananas. Expect flags, palm trees, banana leaves, beach balls, exotic flowers and lounge chairs, along with a Caipirinha bar, a dedicated Olympic-themed cocktail menu and Samba dancers.
