12 London guides, historians or obsessives will choose their favourite Londoners (10 shown above) at a quickfire event in Holborn this week, giving a five minute talk about their chosen figure.
History In The Pub: My Favourite Londoner will also feature a speed quiz on other notable Londoners, devised by Londonist's own editor-at-large Matt Brown.
The event takes place in the basement of the Christopher Hatton pub, 4 Leather Lane on Tuesday 5 July. Tickets are free to London Historians members, or else £5 (book in advance).
