What's a chap (or chapess) to do on a boffo summer's weekend? Why, saddle up the old penny farthing and toddle down to Bedford Square for the Chap Olympiad.

Chaps have been competing in these events for the rakishly dressed since — well, a chap doesn't like to say. Pish to Rio, that's far too much energy. Chap Olympics is more about style than effort; those coveting a gold, silver or bronze cravat would do well to pay more attention to the sharpness of their trouser creases than the accuracy of their aim.

No Chap Olympiad attendee's experience would be complete without a game of boules or hoopla, nonchalantly tossing off a ring or two while quaffing a Bourne and Hollingsworth cocktail as the band plays on in the background. Aunt Agatha would find it all just darling, darling.

Tickets to be at Britain's most eccentric sporting event cost £25, which a chap might find a bit steep but it's an all-day event plus lashings of entertainment. Snap up your place quickly, and start ironing those vintage togs now.

The Chap Olympiad takes place noon-10pm on 16 July at Bedford Square Gardens, WC1B 3EE. Tickets £25 plus booking fee. Discover more on the Chap Olympiad website or take a look at what's happened in previous years.
