The Shard To Get London's Highest Garden
Presumably the garden will be more impressive than this publicity shot, which looks like it was taken from behind a couple of planters.

Part of the viewing deck at The Shard will be transformed into an English garden this summer. Visitors will be treated to native wildflowers, which campaigners Grow Wild have selected for being insect-friendly.

This isn't London's only sky garden — there's the one at the Walkie Talkie, which is 155m high, and the one above Canary Wharf's future Crossrail station which is only a couple of storeys above ground but still floats like a butterfly. The main difference being, once height is accounted for, that these other two are free to visit. The View from The Shard costs from £25.95 per adult or £19.95 per child.

Still, once you're up there you'll be able to sup gardening-inspired cocktails at a pop-up bar on Level 72 and admire artwork by Rachel Gadsden.

The summer garden is open 9 June-18 September. Book your tickets here.
