Matt Smith — aka the 11th Doctor — returns to the stage in a mysterious new play at the Royal Court in July.
Little is know about Unreachable, by innovative pioneer Anthony Neilson — he develops the plot and script with the cast in the rehearsal room.
There's this rather confusing trailer, which does little to illuminate what to expect:
Throughout rehearsals, online content based on ideas the company are experimenting with, will be posted every few days on unreachabletheplay.com. The aim is that eventually, there will be a collection of references that will offer audiences an insight into the process of devising work, and the themes and images that will shape the finished show.
Smith — who was last on stage as the anti-hero Patrick Bateman in American Psycho — will perform alongside Amanda Drew and Jonjo O’Neill, Richard Pyros and Tamara Lawrance.
Unreachable is at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from 2 July-6 August. Tickets start at £10.
