Everybody loves robots and the Science Museum is hosting an exhibition of them next year — but before then they need your help.

Staff at the South Kensington institution want to re-build the first British robot, Eric.

Eric was built in the 1920s but its unclear what happened to him. So the Science Museum is turning to Kickstarter to raise the £35,000 necessary to recreate the important machine.

The exhibition itself will contain over 100 robots including the impressive 2.4m tall Cygan, an articulated manikin from the 1500s and plenty of robot toys.

Robots will be at Science Museum from 8 February to 3 September 2017. Tickets will be £15 for adults.

The Kickstarter campaign for Eric runs until 16 June.
