We always welcome a new piece of public sculpture to the London landscape.
The latest comes from artist Alex J Wood and is a dramatic sculpture of a two metre tall angel, at the centre of the Angel Gate development, in Angel. Is that enough mention of angels for you?
This sculpture came about from Wood winning the Picton Art Prize, and therefore being commissioned to create this work.
We were impressed by Wood's work at a solo show earlier this year so it's great to see him having a permanent presence in London.
Celestial is on permanent display at the Picton Angel Gate development in Islington, EC1V 2PB.
