BrewDog bars are to accept payment in grapefruits from 6pm this evening to mark the launch of their new IPA, Elvis Juice.

The brew is infused with the fruit which is described as a "zesty, American-style" beer. It is the second new beer to be launched by the Scottish brewery this year, following their new stout, Jet Black Heart.

Customers can swap a single fruit for a half pint of the new beer across any of BrewDog's bars this evening from 6pm. Brewdog will send all the grapefruits to its brewery to be used in the next batch of Elvis Juice.

Propel quoted James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog as saying, "Elvis Juice is full-throttle, pummelling punchy fruit flavours to the fore, and is set to headline over the summer months.

"This beer is absolutely dominated by grapefruit, and we wanted to give beer fans the heads up on its arrival by crowdsourcing the ingredients for the next brew day — by swapping a grapefruit for a taste of the hoppy action.”
