It's Dogs Vs. Humans At Battersea Mud Run

Imagine you're a dog. What's better than spending a spring Saturday letting off steam on a doggy obstacle course and getting nice and muddy? Doing it with your favourite human in tow, of course.

Battersea's Muddy Dog Challenge is just that. Dogs and humans are invited to take part in either a 2.5km or 5km run with an obstacle course involving crawling under nets, jumping over tyres and generally getting nice and muddy.

In return for a day of fun, participants are asked to raise sponsorship money, at a minimum of £100 per human taking part. All funds raised from the event will go towards caring for the animals in Battersea's care at its three animal centres — something which costs £12.7m every year.

No dog? No problem. Humans without a canine companion can go it alone, or take part in a human team.

Battersea's Muddy Dog Challenge takes place in Brockwell Park on Saturday 7 May, at 9am and 2pm. Register here. The event also takes place in Windsor on 21 May.
