12 Things To Do During London Fashion Week AW 2016

It's that time of the year again: London Fashion Week is almost here. As we all know, access to the super glam events and catwalks is largely restricted to fashion industry insiders — but this doesn't mean you can't have lots of fashion-related fun. Here are 12 LFW-related events you should consider, most of them under a tenner.

NEW TALENTS
London College of Fashion presents its annual student show, LCFMA16 exhibition, featuring works made by students from the Graduate School courses. Fashion fuses with visual arts including film and photography. Free entry, 17-20 February

WORKSHOPS
Fashion & Textile Museum offers a series of workshops connected to their current exhibition Liberty in Fashion. Try Draw Like a Designer and sharpen up your skills as a fashion creative (£10, prebook, 17 February at 11.30am or 2pm) or join Learn to Sew and make your own creation from beautiful Liberty fabrics (£15, prebook, 19 February at 11.30am or 2pm).

FREE EXHIBITION
The famous London-based milliner Victoria Grant presents an exclusive exhibition displaying her best hat creations at Hotel Café Royal in Regent Street. Her most famous clients include Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Dita Von Teese and Cara Delevingne. Free, just turn up, 17 February-1 March

VOGUE 100
True fashion lovers won't want to miss National Portrait Gallery's blockbuster exhibition Vogue 100: A Century of Style. A series of stunning pictures and visual material reconstruct the first centenary of one of the world's most influential magazines. £17.50/£15.50, prebook, open now until 22 May

HISTORY OF FASHION
This free talk organised by the V&A will introduce you to fashion in Europe between 1600-1815. Admire the unique pieces exhibited in the Fashion Gallery while learning about the use of materials at the time such as cotton, wool and silk. Free, just turn up, 18 February at 1pm

INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOWCASE
British Fashion Council's annual fashion showcase open to the public sees emerging designers from 24 countries exhibiting their collections at Somerset House. This year's theme is Utopia. Free, prebook, 17-23 January

VINTAGE FAIR
