The annual jamboree of cheap theatre tickets — aka Get Into London Theatre — opens for the general public today. There are 40 shows you can see at discount prices with tickets reduced to £10, £20, £30 or £40, with the added bonus of no booking or postage fees.
The tickets will be for performances from 1 January to 12 February 2016 and include plays, musicals, opera and dance. It’s an impressive list of shows with big crowd-pleasers like Sam Mendes’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory or Jim Broadbent in A Christmas Carol; kids favourites such as The Gruffalo and The Lorax; and five star crackers like Hangmen and Mr Foote’s Other Leg. It’s a great chance to catch up on the plays you might have missed over the season as we head into the grim, grey months after the Christmas lights come down.
