Watch The Best London Films With Cocktails And Gourmet Food In Hand

Join Londonist next month as we head down to the Victorian vaults beneath Waterloo station to present three classic movies about London in partnership with the lovely people at Underground Film Club.

These screenings are the first of our Londonist Movies Nights where we’ll introduce iconic London flicks and show some of our favourite London Shorts too.

  • Amy is on 3 December, 8pm: watch the ground-breaking documentary about the life and death of singer Amy Winehouse; with bonus short film The People’s Piano.
  • An American Werewolf In London is on 14 December, 8pm. The comedy-horror masterpiece has some unforgettable scenes set in the capital, especially the beast stalking commuters on the tube and rampaging around Piccadilly Circus; with bonus short film Breathe.
  • Shakespeare In Love is on 21 December, 8pm. Travel back to the time when men were men and women were men too; with bonus short Otherwise Engaged.

Underground Film Club has one of the most atmospheric cinemas in the city, under a cavernous rail arch with decadent red velvet seats and comfy sofas. There’s also a network of tunnels to explore, which have been nicely glammed-up for Christmas with resident DJs and the devilishly-devised putting greens of Birdies Crazy Golf.

You can also find superb cocktails thanks to the master mixologists Spirited Mixers (we love the sweet fiery magic of their aptly-named Flaming Hurricane). And there’s gourmet street food overseen by Richard Sandiford, head chef at Hawksmoor Knightsbridge, including seriously deluxe RockaDollar Dogs. With a dessert bar featuring waffles and ice cream, plus popcorn and nachos on hand too, why not join us for a guaranteed feast of film and festive fun?

Underground Film Club takes place five nights a week at Waterloo Vaults. Tickets are £15. Birdies Crazy Golf is £9 per person per round, book online. Tunnel entry without golf is £3 per person.
