We love walking around London. Taking to your pins is a great way of exploring the city around you, seeing the parts that you normally whizz past on a bus.

This weekend, TfL is encouraging Londoners to get out and feel the crunch (or squelch, depending on the weather) of autumn leaves under their feet, with 40 free guided walks taking place across London.

The routes range in length, from a gentle 1.5 miles to a hardcore 16.5 miles. Head out of town to explore areas such as Wimbledon Park and Richmond, or stay central with walks covering Soho, Southwark and Canary Wharf. Themed walks include Seafaring London, unsurprisingly ending in Greenwich, and Gleaming Spires, wrapping up at St Paul's.

See the full list of walks on the Walk4Life website.

The Autumn Amble takes place 17-18 October. All events are free, and do not require booking.

Not free this weekend, or don't fancy any of these walks? Take a look at our own weekend walks. From canals and rivers, to parkland and city walls, explore the city in your own time, on a route that suits your walking ability.
