Watch A Band Make (Nice) Noise In A Library

Next Friday, indie ensemble Haiku Salut will do something most of us wouldn't have the nerve to — make a cacophony in a library.

To be fair, the Derbyshire band have got permission from Westminster Reference Library. And, as they're best known for their sweet glockenspiel-woven melodies, this is hardly Throbbing Gristle.

As well as providing sweet succour for the ears, this will be one of Haiku Salut's famed 'Lamp Shows', in which 20-odd vintage lights are programmed to flash, fade and flicker in time to the music, creating the gran's-house-in-a-power-outage effect in the video above.

Although the Lamp Shows are doing the rounds across the UK, this is the only date on the docket for London.

Haiku Salut play Westminster Reference Library, 35 St. Martin's Street, WC2H 7HP on 11 September. Tickets cost £11 and are on sale now.
