Hot Town Party Promises A Visual Feast

Head down to Oval Space Hackney tomorrow for Hot Town, a night of music, film and cocktails marking the end of summer and raising funds for the brilliant London Short Film Festival 2016.

As a curtain raiser to the 10 day event in January, there’ll be an exciting programme of shorts to watch plus a music video showcase by veteran British filmmaker Richard Heslop who collaborated with Derek Jarman and was a part of post-punk band 23 Skidoo. Back in the day, Heslop directed vids for everyone from New Order to the Happy Mondays including the mind-melting masterpiece for Ebeneezer Goode by The Shamen. He’ll be on hand to talk about his experiences.

There’ll also be live music from hotly-tipped Northern Irish four-piece Girls Names and a DJ set from New Build members Al Doyle and Felix Martin (who are also part of Hot Chip). There’ll be food on the open-air terrace and Hot Town cocktails at the Oval Space bar.

Best of all, Londonist readers can get a discount to the party as we look forward to partnering LSFF at the festival in January. Simply type HotTownLondonist when you buy a ticket from the website here and you'll get a fiver off the £15 price. 6:30pm until late

The event is run by London Short Film Festival in partnership with Domino Publishing.
