Searching For Lodnon's Best Typos

Admit it, we all enjoy sniggering at other people's trivial errors. Hence, we're on the lookout for London's most amusing misspelled signs, and those that have lost letters with unfortunate results. If you've spotted a comedy sign, either leave a comment with a link or email us at and we'll share the best.

To get things started, here are 14 gems from the Londonist Flickr pool.

We've all heard the old Pancras/Pancreas error, but it's rare to find it on a sign. This one was spotted on Pancras Lane in the City by Tony Harker.

Our very own Laura Reynolds captured this spelling mistake.
One at first suspects a touch of photoshopping here, but Nic Walker in the Londonist Flickr pool assures us it's genuine.

We bought this one on impulse. (Sorry, Star Trek joke.) By Misty in the Londonist Flickr pool.

Here's a couple for you: 'Private Fourcourt' in New Cross and 'Taniya Dry Cleaners - for Best Qualtiy' on Wandsworth Road.

Glenshane Pass

Sadly I don't have a picture but some years ago the bowling alley at Canada Water lost a letter from its name and was for a while called 'HOLLYWOOD OWL'.

I'd rather some other things were removed.

Susan Poupard

Not so much a typo but missing words - the window of Capital Kebabs on The Cut declares "All kebabs are freshly premesis":

Baharum Amin

Do you realise you yourself have made a mistake? In your title, you spelt London as Lodnon. Hahaha ...

3rd pic with the "Pancreas" typo has a second error, they spelled enquiries "enquries"

Robert Smith

Dont know if it's still there but there was an Italian eaterie that did Lasange just off Conduit Street.

Alexander Brizgalov
Torsten Scholz

What's also quite funny is that the tyre seller obviously sells ghost tyres that clip through each other.
