Please, please, PLEASE let it be like this. Picture: Crystal Maze/Instagram

Remember The Crystal Maze? Remember how you used to sit, nose inches from the screen, screaming incoherently as the timer ticked devastatingly close to its end? And wishing, just WISHING, that you could be there instead as there is NO WAY it would have taken you as long as this pillock to retrieve that crystal from the egg cup balanced precariously on a series of wooden planks teetering above an ominous watery grave.

Well, would-be mazers, we have some extremely exciting news for you …

THE CRYSTAL MAZE IS COMING TO LONDON AND YOU CAN TAKE PART. WE REPEAT: YOU CAN BE IN IT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

We’ll have more information for you on 14 June as the details are being kept under wraps up until then. But, we do know that it will be launching in central London in the autumn, the much famed “zones” will be in play, and it will be a fully interactive, live experience.

Little Lion Entertainment is the company behind it. We can’t wait to find out and tell you more — stay tuned.

EDIT: An update with further details can now be found here.

I do hope this is real and not just a harvesting of contact details like that Outdoor Cinema Company thing. Little Lion Theatre don't seem to exist and the domain was only registered a month ago.

There used to be a place you could play the Crystal Maze (though it was years ago and I can't remember where). An automated system sent you around the play area to different games you could play and, at the end, instead of the tokens-in-a-large-crystal thing, your team stood around a large cylinder with buttons all over it and had to quickly press them as they lit up to gain points.
