Last week was National Mills Weekend, when windmills across the country and around the capital threw open their sails to the public. Didn't know there were so many windmills in London? Take a look at the fine specimens above.
There's also Arkley Mill in London borough of Barnet which is rather nice, and the old windmill that's built into the Old Mill Pub in Plumstead deserves a mention. You can see the remains of the windmill that used to pump water for the New River in the car park belonging to Thames Water on Amwell Street in Islington
