Housing Protestors And Anarchist Squatters Occupy Admiralty Arch

Housing protestors and anarchists have occupied London landmark, Admiralty Arch, hanging banners from the top of the gatehouse which joins Trafalgar Square with The Mall.

The group, calling itself 'Autonomous Nation of Anarchist Libertarians (ANAL)' (yeah, we know) occupied the Grade I listed building at around 10.30am today. They unfurled banners reading "Better squat than let homes rot" and "Homes for all".

In 2012 Admiralty Arch was sold as a 125-year lease and plans were agreed by Westminster City Council to turn the building into a luxury hotel offering views over Buckingham Palace.
